FAQs on Bank of China InstaPay fund transfer feature

1. What is InstaPay?
InstaPay is an interbank funds transfer service under the National Retail Payment System (NRPS) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) which allows clients to electronically transfer funds up to Php 50,000 between their Bank of China account and other accounts in participating banks and financial institutions in the Philippines, anytime, anywhere.

2. How can I transfer to another bank using InstaPay?
Bank of China online users can transfer to other banks using InstaPay via BOC Net or BOC Mobile. 

3. Is enrollment required to avail of the InstaPay service?
No, it is not required to enroll the recipient’s account for fund transfers made through InstaPay as long as the source account and recipient account are both active.

4. How much is the transaction fee?
Sending money using InstaPay is Php 20 per transaction.

5. What is the allowed maximum amount and number of transactions?
InstaPay limit is Php 50,000 per transaction but you can transfer up to an aggregated amount of Php 500,000 per day, per source account.

6. What type of accounts can send via InstaPay?
Only Philippine Peso-denominated savings or checking accounts in active status may send and receive fund transfers using InstaPay.

7. Can Corporate Accounts transact InstaPay?
Unfortunately, InstaPay service is only limited to P2P (Person-to-Person) for now.

8. Can I use InstaPay to transfer funds overseas?
Unfortunately, InstaPay services are only available for PHP/ Peso fund transfers between peso accounts of participating banks and non-bank e-money issuers within the Philippines.

9. Is transferring funds using InstaPay safe and secure?
Every transaction of InstaPay will require a password generated from your E-Token. You will also receive an SMS and email notification for every transaction.

10. Can I request for cancellation of the transaction?
As a reminder, always make sure to provide correct details when sending.  All successful transfers are final and can no longer be canceled or reversed.

11. How do I transfer money via InstaPay?
You may transfer money via InstaPay by logging in to Bank of China Internet Banking Site or the Bank of China Mobile app.
- Select “InstaPay” from the Menu selection.
- Select “InstaPay Fund Transfer”.
- Select Payer’s Account.
- Select Payee Type.
- Input other details required
- Review and agree on the Terms and Conditions. Click Submit
- Verify the details inputted. Click Confirm.
- Input the password generated from your E-Token.

    Transaction Successful!

12. How do you generate your QR code?
Log in to Bank of China Mobile Application and look for the Scan icon on the upper right of the mobile application.
- Select My QR Code on the right bottom of the page.
- QR Code is generated
- Click Share QR code to either save or share your QR Code.

You can now start sending the QR code instead of giving your account number to receive InstaPay transfers.

13. What is the Multi-Proxy Service?

The Multi-Proxy Service or MPS allows you to link your Bank of China-Manila Branch Account to your nominated mobile number or email address. With MPS, you now have an option to receive fund transfers via your mobile number or email address linked to your account, together with a nickname that you created.

You may link both of your mobile number and email address to the same account, or you may link your mobile number and email address to different accounts, but you cannot link more than one mobile number or email address to the same account.

14. How do you link a mobile number or email address to your Bank of China account?
- Log in to Bank of China Internet Banking Site or the Bank of China Mobile Application.
- Select “InstaPay” from the menu selection
- Select InstaPay Proxy Account Management
- Click the + sign on the lower right of the mobile application to create a proxy. For Bank of China Internet Banking Site, Click InstaPay Proxy Account Management with + sign to create a proxy.
- Input Proxy details and account to be linked.
- Confirm details of your transaction.
        o For BOC Mobile App, click Submit to proceed.
        o For Bank of China Internet Banking Site, click Register to proceed.
        o For BOC Mobile App, input password generated from E-token then click OK.
        o For Bank of China Internet Banking site, input certification code and verification code from either SMS or email (depending on the proxy you have registered) then input password generated from E-token. Click Confirm.

    Registration Successful!

15. When would an InstaPay transaction fail?
Fund transfers using InstaPay may be rejected due to the following:
- Source account has insufficient funds
- Invalid or incorrect destination account details
- The destination bank account is blocked/closed/down. As a reminder, always make sure to provide correct details when sending.  All successful transfers are final and can no longer be cancelled or reversed.
